Today is Epiphany! It is the day in the church calendar when we remember the visit of the Magi to the Christ Child. When Jan. 6th does not fall on a Sunday, we celebrate Epiphany on the Sunday prior, as we did this past week. The word Epiphany comes from a word that means to show, shine forth, appear or be made known. The magi followed the star to find the child. We are also seeking Jesus in our daily lives, trusting that God can and does use many signs to guide us closer to the Divine presence.
As we have done in the last three years, we are opening ourselves to the possibility that we can see and know God's presence in our lives reflected through even one single word. You are invited to click on the link below to go to a website that lets you spin a wheel to receive a word that will be your Star Word. Try to accept the first word that you receive... but if you must, you can spin the wheel again.
You are invited to reflect on that word for the coming year… ponder what significance this word might have in your life, and how God might be speaking to you through that simple word. There is a link to a journal resource that might be helpful in letting the Star Word guide you to where God is calling you to go throughout your faith journey in the coming year.
Throughout the year, share some thoughts, either briefly or at length, about your star gifts in the weekly Announcements or newsletter or on the Burton facebook group…. take a selfie with your Star gift and post it… or email it to Andrea to post. May there be many blessings on your journey!
Click here to go to a random word generator so that you can get your Star Word! Remember to click in the middle of the box where it says "Click to Spin!" not on any of the tabs below the wheel. After you spin and receive your word (which is shown at the top of the resulting box) you can click continue for someone else to simply click on the wheel to receive a word. There are also star words available in the Little Free Pantry and the Little Free Library if you wish to receive it that way. Click here for a Star Word journal resource.
